As domaining increases in popularity, many beginners get disillusioned, confused and often misled. Why? They don’t understand “expired domain names”.
There are countless sites on the Internet that provide lists of domain names that have already expired. For the beginners reading this, a domain name goes through a drop cycle (also known as the drop) where its registered and then expires. Think of it as a lifecycle - its born then dies. However, when a domain dies (expires), along come the backordering companies, domainers, registrars etc.. and give it CPR. Suddenly the domain is alive again. However, not all domains get CPR - some are left to die.
In my experience, ALL of the good names are given CPR. Those that are not renewed, not backordered, not tasted - are are left for DEAD. They are domains on the big scrap heap. Now statistically, yes you could claim that there might be one little needle in the haystack. One tiny little one that everyone in the world missed - but I seriously doubt it.
