Factors that can influence the value of your parked domain - DNHour

Today I am going to talk about domain parking again. After the post I did about the power of compounding as it applies to parked domains, I want to write about some of the factors that can influence the value of a parked domain. The first thing to take into consideration is to see if the domain name is a generic term or it is a “typo”. A “typo” is a domain name that is inspired on an existing site, and I have talked a lot about these types of domains. I already explained on this post why a generic domain name is valued more highly than a “typo” domain. Another factor to take into consideration is if the domain in question is a “fashion” name, or if it is something that might be more time resistant. A domain that is the name of a TV show, or a movie will be valued with a lower multiple. On the other hand the name of a university or college with be valued more generously (for example I own UniversidadPolitecnicaDePuertoRico.com).
