Today's Godaddy.com press release will probably get a lot of haters frown but the godaddy's numbers have shown clearly that .me domains is the most successful new domain launch in history. First day of registration netted 20,000 .me domain names through Godaddy alone.The demand way so huge that it caused Godaddy servers to slow down for the first couple of hours of the open registration. This eventually led to multiple registrations of .me domains. Godaddy says they have rectified the situation and have processed refunds accordingly. On a personal note, I was one of the people who registered insure.me through Godaddy and received the email saying it cannot be processed. On July 19, I was refunded.Further more, Godaddy's PR indicated that .me domains are great for individuals or businesses looking to uniquely express themselves online with a podcast, blog, online photo album, or Web site dedicated to their interests. While most aweso.me .me domains have been either reserved, being auctioned or have been grabbed on the first day of open registration, there are still thousands of .me domain ideas to register.The three biggest ICANN-accredited registrars that accept .me domain registrations are www.GoDaddy.com, EuroDNS and Netfirms Web Hosting. For U.K. residents, I recommend you register .me domains through a local registrar, EasySpace.com. Take your pick and register yours before somebody else does!
