Here's a question: what value is there in/ or how does one put a value on names relating
to the topic of the digital music scene? Specifically, the whole thing with drm free mp3s?
Now there's been quite a bit of news on this, as you may know, lately. Super Bowl ad/
Justin Timberlake// Pepsi and Amazon, not to mention the major labels trying to figure
things out. I mean, now Yahoo! Music looks like they're getting involved. Big bucks
behind the football ads... the give-away itself will be valued at as many as 1 billion songs from Amazon MP3.
With a quote like this: ""MP3 music is the future of the industry and Pepsi Stuff is an accelerator," Danny Socolof, president of Las Vegas-based MEGA, Inc., the company that is managing the promotion, said in a statement." [ http://www.internetnews.com/bus-news/article.php/3721576] how do you value/appraise these?
So, if one had names like:
drmfreealbum.com
drmfreealbums.com
drmfreedownload.com
drmfreedownloads.com
drmfreemp3.com
drmfreemp3s.com
drmfreemusic.info
drmfreemusicdownloads.com
drmfreesongs.com
drmfreetrack.com
drmfreetracks.com
Just curious; wanted to start a conversation. Wonder how many eyeballs the Super Bowl gets? I don't really even watch football.

I'm not an expert in domain appraisal, but here are some of my opinions. If you had domains like the ones mentioned above...
1) They would rank very highly in search engines because all the keywords like are in the domain names. From the domain names above, i believe you have done a thorough research on the "popular" searched keywords in the music industy. To add on, you can do research in Google Adwords keyword tool to find other relevant keywords like
and its search volume, advertiser information. These information are very important before you buy the domain name because the pay-per-click that you can earn increases when there's more advertisers.
2) The domains are worth not much if it is not developed. I would suggest you to use a content management application such as zoomla or drupal. These platforms are easier to develop because they require minimal technical knowledge to install and can be easily managed. Then you can hire someone with minimal costs (eg. college kids or freelancers from India) to develop those sites by pumping in more information so that its crawled by major seach engines. Then increase its backlinks by submitting into directories, exchange links, use automated submission software and commenting on other websites/blogs. Although it takes a very long time to develop these sites, you can put in some advertisements so that there's some revenue to keep the site going. Then the domain name is worth multiple times the original value when the unique visitors increases. Then maybe few years later, sell these domain names together with the developed site, and you're RICH!
