This is an area we are still getting to grips with. We don't want to under price domains, but don't want to price people out of showing interest. Some good advice in here.

Oh no, I'm just a visionary domainer ... D.Gelernter is the real thing ... a technology visionary that has seen his past ideas implemented allover, especially in parallel computing. Just research Gelernter around and you'll realize that he's very serious in applying his vision too.

Whypark is quite good. I am using it for some of my good domains and it is definitely better than just parking them. At least now my domains have links and indexed in major SE. Just remember to write a few related articles or hire some ghost-writers to do it (market rate is $15-$20 for 600-800 word articles)and include them in the whypark pages. Then submit these articles to as many article sites. You will be happy to see your Adsense earnings fly, and u dont have to share the earnings with the parking sites.

How To Get Started As A Domainer: Excellent Write-Up For Beginners!
My take is this... Try not to just put "make offer" as the price for your domain if you are seriously planning to sell them. I think domains with "make offer" do not get as much offers as any with a price. Do your research first in the forums and get appraisals from your fellow forumers. Once you are more or less certain of a price, list the names at SEDO..WITH a price about 25% less than the market price, just to hook a bid. Once someone bites, put it up for auction and market like hell! I have gotten some really good sales with such strategy. Good luck!

How much to ask for your names
Very nice ideas and these take lots of patience and perserverence. My experience is not to park the good names but develop them, at least a little. If you dont have the time, sign up for Whypark.com and use their service. Its better than just parking the good domains. At least the domains will be better indexed in the search engines.

I'm glad it helps. I remember spending six months or so on DIGG, confused to all get out, and then finally searching for some help. That article crystallized it for me and made DIGG a lot more useful for me. Figured others here were probably in the same situation...

I found dotzup to be totally inflexible with allowing us some control over out templates -- and honestly their templates look awful in terms of design so we couldn't bear to use them. I think ActiveAudience has a good system that allows you to control the look and feel of your site somewhat, as well as control overriding keywords, etc. Though we do get better revenue with TrafficClub than we do with ActiveAudience.

I found those unbiased reviews quite resourceful. I have been searching hi and low for a consolidated review on major parking sites, and all I can find is the forums....not good enough. Thanks!

Domain Whitepaper - Make Money with Domain Names
Traffic Club has had a lot of turmoil lately and I believe that they are only using one feed. They also don't have an affiliate program at all - and that's the only source of revenue that allows me to spend the time reviewing these sites and writing a newsletter every month. As long as they have *some* type of affiliate program I include them and I work very hard to provide unbiased reviews and updates.

Domain Whitepaper - Make Money with Domain Names
I think the Almighty Domainers own about 80% of the best domains and the rest are shared between the the rest. The law of 80-20 but I think in the domaining world, its 90-10. But the good news is that everyday, new developments will give birth to new generics and type-in domains. It is the astute domainers who I think will out-regg these domains from the almight fellas.

I agree that the stats are only for ONE domain, its a very good analysis though. Generally vintage domains do get crawled faster and rank higher too, and this study really prooves the point. I really like this post!

Case Study Demonstrates the SEO Power of Vintage Domains
IMHO, they overpaid for it. Its not a generic term but a common phrase and would not bring much type-ins. Maybe, they bought it because of its brandability...it is good news to domainers with brandable common phrases in competitive markets.
