I might give KeywordSpy a try. I'm doing fairly well with arbitrage as it is, but there's always room for refinement.

I'll be curious to see how much I'll get for domains that I actually bought through Snapnames one or two years ago.

I'm not sure I want to announce to the public that I'm a domainer. I'll have people coming up to me at the mall and saying, "So you're one of those cybersquatters who's ruining the internet." Ah, but perhaps it will an opportunity to educate the public.

It would be a fantastic buy for a company that makes or sells cell phones, or an affiliate website selling cell phones.

Thanks Jamie!
How bout 'Domain Chick'? Just an idea, you can try selling a special package for a set of his and her type of t-shirts. Maybe 'Domain Geek' and 'Domain Chick' as a couple set. I would love to see my guy to wear 'Domain Geek' t-shirt and me in 'Domain Chick' t-shirt. Valentine's Day is just about 3 months away.. IMHO

Ok, I have decided to add a CafePress site as well.
There is a huge selection of styles, colors and sizes. I will be adding new designs daily. Let me know what you think. Also, if you would like to suggest some "Sayings" feel free to let me know.

The .com and Domainer shirts are still available on www.DomainersApparel.com
For the size SM shirts on www.DomainersApparel.com they are as follows...
Width 18 inches 46 cm
Length 28 inches 71 cm

Just wondering, what is the shirt width & length for size Sm? I only see size Med and above in the size chart. BTW, are you considering other colours than black (such as blue?)

I wanted to start out with a couple basic designs. One, the Domainer design and secondly the .com because we all love .com .
The Pre Order section has several more designs and color options to vote on, and we will take the most popular and make those shirts next.
We thought about going the CafePress route and we still can, but we just were not sure about there quality and prices. Going this route, we could offer every color, tons of designs and unlimited sizes of shirts that they offer! We could also then offer sweatshirts, ladies shirts, tank tops and more.
For us to stock a very wide selection of designs, colors and sizes makes it extremely pricey. For instance for each design on one color of shirt, we have to pick sizes. Sm, Med, Lg, XL, 2XL etc. That's 5 shirts, one color (black) of shirt and one design. So you can see to have these in stock for each size, each color and each design could get very pricey on our end and have a butt load of shirts, which equals risk, if nobody likes the shirts.
Feedback will be great.... Go the CafePress route? Add more designs, colors, size options etc on DomainersApparel.com ?

Very good read! Been there myself. Money talks and it's evident that without financial backing of some sort, these premium domains are still considered an "investment" and that's why the high price tags. Thanks again for a great story.

You win some, you lose some....but to go head-on against Kevin Ham?? $3,100 is chump change to him :) Good thing you got HighlandsWedding.com at regg fee.

I personally believe this can be done but there is lots of hard work. I have personally started with only a few hundred dollars and after about 1 year, I have more than 1 thousand domains in my portfolio.
I remember buying a domain for $85 at Namepros, made $100 parking it in 1 month and later sold it for $400. After that, I bought a few LLLL.com, including Vuyo.com for $50! You just need to hunt for them and keep on sending out offers.
Some deals that I have done...
1. Bought a 1 worded French domain for $300 and sold for more than $3,000 1 month later.
2. Bought a LLL.com for $1,500 and sold for $7,500 2 months later.
3. Bought ScubaDiving.net for only $500 and keeping it.
4. Bought some very good LLLL.com and developed them ...check out
Saty.com :
Women's Lifestyle Portal.
PPCAd.com :
PPC Advertising News Portal
Swapnames.com (But I think you know what happened to it :(
Zuho.com :
Domain Swapping Marketplace.
5. Registered DNMojo.com, partially developed it and sold for $3,500 in 3 months.
I have also traded-up some of my domains with some other domainers, all at Zuho.com.
All the money I have made has been reinvested in creating more value to the sites that I own. I have also hand-regg hundreds of domains from upcoming technologies, check them out at
DNTip.com. I am not selling any of the domains unless they are crazy offers for them. Some of the hand-reggs are already churning some income in SEDO.
From my very short experience, I know hitting tens of thousands of dollars in virtual property, starting from a few hundred dollars is definitely achievable. Good luck to all!

What? No sizes above 2XL? Some of us have much more around the middle after sitting at a computer all day!

Great idea. If it catches on I'd be very interested in seeing the tactics of the "masters". Keep us posted so we can keep tabs! RUDY @ LOGISTIK LABS.

Personally I don’t doubt that Rick or Frank could take $1,000 to $200,000 in one year, but it would be a fascinating exercise to watch and follow. I would really love to see one of them (or Sahar, Kevin Ham, or any other top domainer) take the challenge.

Ok, another one very good tip. I had my hands full after reading this and managed to regg a handful of fantastic domains. People should check this out :)

This guy is incredible. He's one of that breed of "do-it-all" people that make me wonder what I'm doing with my time. But I don't think you can be someone like him unless you are extraordinarily intelligent.

I'd be more impressed if you'd published something origional, rather than copying the list off Jottings.com without giving them credit. They compiled that in 2004 and it was well distributed around the net - you didn't even change the title (Google results http://tinyurl.com/yosxfl).

I don't agree that Registrar's auctioning off their expired domains is hijacking. I can't speak for the other Registrars but at Tucows they give an extra 35 days on the usual 40 after expiry, in which time the original registrant can pay to reclaim their domain. Considering most Registrars or domain resellers send out expiry notices at 90/60/30/1 day intervals that’s a huge window in which to retain your domain.

Good article. I always heard that Symbolics.com was the first domain ever registered. Now I know thats' correct. Thanks for the great read.

Their are still many TLD' s available for many enitys, you just have to have a good generic approach. I am still picking up good TLD's for my network that are useful and good value.

Good comment - it amazes me how many miss the this point. Their are many top level TLD's still available to refrence various goods n services, apart from useful they are good value.
