We worked very hard to get the Bido.com preview site up and running as it is now with today’s deadline. We still need to polish the pages a little bit and still have allot of work ahead of us in the next three weeks before we start running auctions (March 20th, the first day of Spring).Comments on our model and suggestions of what you would like to see are most welcome, appreciated.
Out to dinner, have a great weekend!
Sahar

Sahar, I like the design very much. Hope you can get everything up and running by March 20th!
But I have one question I posted on my blog already: What is the exact name of this service? Is it Bido, BIDO or Bido.com? I noticed you use different versions on the Bido.com website and in your blog posts…
Good luck!
Thanks Dominik for brining this up. I will talk to our team and get their input on this. For now, Bido is whatever you want it to be
Sahar
Sahar,
I think it’s a great concept. The first few days will determine the trend. May be you’ll should auction off one of your premium names.
(similar to what Greg did in DNForum in the initial days)
Couple of Questions regarding registration.
1) Preregisted during Traffic Launch, should I register again.
2) Will the Bido login integrated with DNZoom login?
—-answer—-
Hi Ravi,
Thanks Ravi for the feedback.
1. All those who registered will get an email with their account. Once logged in you edit passwords, choose protection image, etc.
2. Yes. Same account will work for both services.
Cheers
Sahar
Sahar,
Best of luck to you and the rest of the bido.com team. I look forward to participating on the site in the near future.
I’d love to spend some time looking over the site in detail and provide you with some feedback both from a visual as well as a usability standpoint - if you welcome it.
Off the bat, I’ll start by saying that I felt a bit confused upon registering. You see, as soon as I entered my personal data and pressed submit, the entire look and feel of the site changed without warning. dnzoom is a part of (service of) bido.com. bido.com’s branding should never swap in and out regardless of what section you are in.
I also will agree with the comment made earlier. You’re establishing a brand here. It’s important to stick to some brand guidelines at all times.
Once again, congrats and I hope my feedback is welcome since I’m more than happy to provide more along the way.

Hi Jorge, and thanks for the great feedback.
Agree on the confusion part, things could have been done better, especially on the registration part. We’ve done our best to work with today’s deadline and did not want to not release because we did not yet perfect the look/feel we ideally wanted. We will fix these issues early next week.
Agree on brand importance, working on that already.
I always worry if all feedback is good. Of course, we welcome all feedback, good and and not so good.
Cheers

Everything looks great…my only negative thing I’ve thought the whole time is if a name gets submitted and one of the panel members says something negative about it…the name will be kind of “marked” for life.
Other than that looks exciting.
—-answer—-
Hi Tim,
That’s the nature of reviews, some good, some not so good. What we would be looking for from our experts is not the good or bad, just the honest and fair.

Nice Concept & Great UI. You may want to tone down the colours though… too colourful for my liking.
—-answer—-
Thanks for the feedback. We will keep working on final UI next three weeks before release. Not sure if we will tone down but quite positive the current UI will be enhanced before release.

Sahar,
This looks great except that auctioning only one domain per day is limiting yourself. How many people will visit ebay or sedo only if there was one item/domain auctioned everyday? Just my 2 cents.
Wish you Goodluck,
Sai.
—-answer—-
Thanks Sai for the feedback, point taken.

Hi Sahar, as mentioned before I love the layout and zesty looking colours, very FRESH !
The only thing that springs to mind is the navigation may be a potential problem if the site expands.
There is no clear defined navigation space and at the moment (from what I can see) its a one way street. No way to get back unless you use the back button on the browser…just a thought.
The project sounds very interesting and I look forward to following it.
PS - I signed up for the newsletter and when I pressed submit a box came up saying “thanks for submitting your domains” - is that part functional at the moment or will I need to sign up again later? - Thanks
—-answer—-
Hi again,
Aware of these issues, will all get fixed Monday (newsletter, navigation).
Thanks!
Sahar
I agree the one domain a day is limiting. What is the point in opening an account if you can never auction a domain because there are always higher quality domains waiting??
Your max list is 365 domains (assuming they all sell and non have to be repeated) and that covers you for a year. Most owners aren’t willing to wait a year for a lineup and will seek other forums.
Maybe try 10 or 20 a day.
—-answer—-
Gordon,
We’re well aware of this. We’re starting somewhere, not ending here.

Agree that bido sounds very exciting and am looking forward to its launch. I too was very confused by the registration, and almost felt tricked when I realized I had just signed up for DNzoom instead of bido (although, reading the comments, it seems these accounts will be integrated.)
When done with the domain submission form, it sends you to http://bido.com/submit.php with a javascript popup saying “subscription completed” or something similar. For having such a nice interface so far, I thought it was odd that you are using javascript popups. Hopefully that was just to get the preview live. I’d like to see a confirmation page listing exactly what was submitted, along with some FAQ’s such as “How long should I wait for my names to be accepted?”
Agree that there needs to be consistency with the name (Bido, BIDO, bido, etc.)
A couple of typos:
On http://bido.com/about.php under House Rules, number 2, “parties” is spelled “parities”
On, https://app.dnzoom.com/dnz-client/login.php?newAccount=1, in the user agreement box,
“Use of any such support services is governed by the DNZOOM, INC. polices and programs ”
misspells “policies”
Sorry, didn’t know how detailed you wanted the feedback.
Take care,
Jorge
—-answer—-
Again, thanks Jorge, will take all into consideration.
Yes, we rushed the preview site with our eyes on fixing little things early next week. No worries, all will get fixed, we’re definitely just starting here, not finishing.
Cheers

Hello Sahar,
I registered on Bido weeks ago, but did not receive any conf email etc. Is it just me, a glitch, or is that normal?
Thank You,
Ed
—-answer—-
Hi Ed,
There was no conf. email sent I believe. Once we get closer to release we will send an email or two with updates.
Cheers
