The .CM domains became famous when Kevin Ham wildcarded the entire zone. .CM a typo of .COM and .CM is the ccTLD of Cameroon. Now NetCom SARL, the domain registry of Cameroon, is launching com.cm, .net.cm and .co.cm domains. The sunrise period will start on 15th October 2008. The extensions .com.cm, net.cm and co.cm might no be as attractive to domainers as .cm, but these domains should still hold substantial traffic from China (.com.cn vs. .com.cn). According to information received, the top level .cm will be launched later and grandfather rules might apply.
